 Re: Avatar n Mushies
I noticed it as well...
The whole propaganda about leaving the natives and their indigenous homes as it is, don't make them change their culture, do the right thing, warra warra warra... Let's proclaim all natives / informal settlements as a rich heritage, and protect it, and preserve it... [sarcastic]
Just to be clear, I LOVED THE MOVIE, Super special FX etc, excellent story, good casting...
But the psycological conflict about progress / capatilism vs tradition really boils my blood... It feels like sum1 sumwhere wants me to feel bad for not whiping my ass with recycled paper. "Stand up for what's right, be stronger than the marines!! Join a cause to save what is left..." - fuck that. Times change, adapt or die.

 Re: Avatar n Mushies
We have different views of the world doktor. I desire to protect tradition simply because some traditional ways of living make sense to me. The way I'm expected to live now in our white society is sick. It's the adaptation to our current traditions that very well may cause us to all die. Haven't seen Avatar yet. Probably wait until I can rent it. I'd prefer to trip at home rather then a movie theater.

I watched a screener version of Avatar on 5.5 grams of mushroom tea and all I can say is, "Holy Shit, that was awesome!" I can't wait to see the high quality version so I can really appreciate it fully - but even the screener sent me reeling! What an intense cup of tea it was! Actually it was two cups! I used mulling spices & peppermint tea and sucked it back. I was coming up and watching the movie 15 minutes later!
